Typical market rates in 2026
| Market | Single session | Package | Executive |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ireland | €90 – €200 | €400 – €1,500 | €1,500+ |
| United Kingdom | £80 – £200 | £400 – £1,500 | £1,500+ |
| Portugal | €60 – €150 | €300 – €1,000 | €1,000+ |
Indicative market ranges for one to one career coaching aimed at professionals, based on publicly advertised rates in each market. Individual coaches vary widely and packages are usually cheaper per hour than single sessions.
What you should get for the money
- ·A positioning decision: which roles, which level, which market, and why you will win there.
- ·A CV and LinkedIn profile rewritten for that target, not a generic polish.
- ·A named target company list and an outreach approach, rather than advice to apply more.
- ·Interview preparation with real practice and feedback, including the salary conversation.
- ·Support between sessions when a real interview or offer lands, because that is when it matters.
Why prices vary so much
Three things drive the spread. Experience of the coach in your actual market, whether the service includes written deliverables like a CV and LinkedIn rewrite, and whether you are buying a conversation or an outcome. A cheap session with a generalist and a package with someone who places people in your target market are different products with the same label.
Relocation adds a further layer. Coaching for an international move has to cover permits, market norms and how recruiters read a foreign CV, which a domestic coach usually does not handle.
Judge value against the cost of a slow search. Two extra months of searching, or an offer accepted several thousand below market, dwarfs the difference between a cheap and a good coach.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a career coach cost in Ireland?+
Single sessions with an experienced coach in Ireland typically run from about €90 to €200, and multi session packages from roughly €400 to €1,500 depending on length and what is included. CV only services sit lower, executive coaching sits higher.
How much does a career coach cost in the UK?+
Expect roughly £80 to £200 per session and £400 to £1,500 for a package, with London rates at the upper end. Executive level coaching regularly exceeds that range.
How much does career coaching cost in Portugal?+
Portuguese rates are lower than Ireland and the UK, commonly around €60 to €150 per session, with packages from roughly €300 to €1,000. Coaches working with international clients often price closer to European rates.
Is career coaching cheaper as a package?+
Almost always. Packages reduce the effective hourly rate and, more importantly, they cover the full arc of a search: positioning, CV and LinkedIn, applications, interviews and negotiation. A single session rarely changes an outcome on its own.
What should be included in the price?+
At minimum, the sessions themselves, a rewritten CV and LinkedIn profile, a target company approach, interview practice and support between sessions. Ask specifically what happens between calls, because that is where most of the work actually happens.
