Every month the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment publishes the employers that were granted Irish employment permits. We have loaded 16,063 named employers from the 2024, 2025 and 2026 tables so you can search any company and see how many permits it was actually granted.

Irish work permits in numbers (official data)

Ireland granted 39,390 employment permits in 2024 and 31,044 in 2025. In the first eight months of 2026 a further 26,629 permits were granted and 2,967 applications were refused. Dublin accounted for 11,738 of the 2026 permits, and health and social work was the largest sector with 7,227, ahead of hospitality with 2,760 and technology with 2,707.

Sponsorship in Ireland: the short answer

Ireland has no sponsor licence register like the UK. Employment permits are granted for a specific job, so any legally trading Irish employer can sponsor you if the salary and occupation qualify. In 2026 that usually means €38,000 for a Critical Skills role on the occupations list, €64,000 for a role that is not on it, or €34,000 for a General Employment Permit. The companies that say yes most often are the large technology, pharma, medical device, financial services, healthcare and research employers listed below.

In the official Department of Enterprise tables, the employers granted the most Irish employment permits across 2024 to 2026 include Dawn Meats, Google Ireland, Ernst & Young, Amazon Development Centre Ireland, University of Limerick Hospitals Group, Mowlam Healthcare, Cork University Hospital, Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services, Amazon Web Services and WuXi Biologics. In total, more than 16,000 named Irish employers were granted at least one permit in that period, and this page lets you search all of them.

Does Ireland have an official list of sponsoring employers?

Ireland has no sponsor licence register like the UK, because permits are granted per job rather than per company.
