LinkedIn for Ireland Jobs: 9 Changes That Get You Found by Dublin Recruiters
Irish recruiters use LinkedIn as their primary sourcing tool. If your profile is not optimised for how they actually search, you are invisible. Here are 9 concrete changes to make today.

Why LinkedIn matters more in Ireland than most markets
Ireland is small. There are roughly 2,600 tech recruiters covering Dublin, most of them on LinkedIn Recruiter, most of them searching the same keywords daily. Get your profile right and you get 5-15 InMails a week. Get it wrong and you are shouting into the void.
The 9 changes to make this week
1. Location: set it to Dublin, Ireland (even if you are relocating)
Recruiter searches filter by location first. If you are moving from Lisbon to Dublin next month, change your location now. It is not lying, it is signalling.
2. Headline: role + specialism + value, not "Seeking opportunities"
Bad: Marketing Manager | Open to Work. Good: B2B SaaS Marketing Manager | EMEA demand gen & lifecycle | Ex-HubSpot. Recruiters search for job titles + skills; give them both.
3. About section: first 3 lines are your hook
Only the first 3 lines show without clicking "see more". Front-load your positioning: current role, target role, one killer metric.
4. Skills: pin the exact 3 the job ads use
Search 5 Dublin job ads for your target role. Copy the 3 most-repeated skills. Pin them to the top of your Skills section. Get 5 endorsements each.
5. Featured section: put your CV there as a PDF
Sounds obvious. Almost no one does it. Recruiters love it because it saves them a step.
6. Turn on "Open to Work" privately
The green frame screams desperation to hiring managers at your current company. The private setting (visible to recruiters only) is what you want.
7. Get 3 recommendations from Irish colleagues or clients
Local social proof matters. A recommendation from someone at a recognisable Irish company (Stripe, Intercom, AIB, Accenture Ireland) massively boosts credibility.
8. Add work permit status in your About section
One line: "Stamp 4 holder, no work permit required" or "EU citizen". It removes the biggest silent objection in Irish hiring.
9. Post once a week for 4 weeks before applying
LinkedIn boosts profiles that post. Share a lesson from your work, a comment on Irish market trends, or a case study. Even 2 posts per week for a month raises profile views 3-5x.
The metric that actually matters
Ignore connection count. The number to watch is search appearances, visible from your dashboard. If it is under 15 per week, your keywords are off. If it is over 50 and you are still not getting InMails, your headline or photo is the problem.
