Don't just plan your CV, plan your life before moving abroad

If AI had existed when I moved abroad, I think my whole journey would have looked different.

I wouldn''t have used it just to fix my CV. I would have asked a much bigger question:

"Where could I actually build a better life?"

Moving to another country is about much more than finding a job. It''s about finding a place that fits your personality, lifestyle, career goals, finances, and the life you want to create.

What I had to figure out on my own

When I moved to Ireland, I had to work everything out from scratch:

• Where should I live?

• Which companies should I target?

• Which cities have the best opportunities?

• How do I build a network from zero?

• What kind of roles actually make sense for me?

It was mostly trial and error. A lot of wasted months, a lot of guessing.

How I would do it today

Today, I would do it completely differently.

I would tell AI about my experience, strengths, family situation, lifestyle preferences, financial goals, and the kind of environment where I thrive. Then I''d ask it to compare countries, cities, and job markets for me.

Questions like:

• Which places fit my lifestyle?

• What salary can I realistically expect?

• What''s the true cost of living?

• Where can I build a network faster?

• What would my first 90 days look like?

That alone could have saved me months of guessing.

AI won''t move abroad for you

AI won''t make the decision for you, and it definitely won''t move abroad for you. But it can help you think more clearly before making one of the biggest decisions of your life.

Most people use AI at the end of the process:

• "Fix my CV."

• "Write my cover letter."

• "Improve my LinkedIn."

The real power is using it at the beginning.
